Steve and his wife, Liza, moved to Kershaw County in 1980 when Steve came to work for Van Horn Insurance, prior to that he worked for Travelers Insurance. He has over 40 years insurance experience and enjoys being a hands on agent.
Steve took over as owner of Van Horn Insurance in August of 2005 and as President in 2018. When not meeting with clients, working late or hitting the roads to gather insurance information, Steve enjoys golfing, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
James joined Van Horn in Jan 2013 after 9 years in the banking industry. He took over ownership of the agency in 2018. Prior to that, he worked in Mount Pleasant, SC for an insurance agency. James attended the University of South Carolina, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Marketing.
His past/present community activities include: Board Member United Way of Kershaw County, Board Member Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce, Camden Jaycees, Camden Rotary Club and the Co-Chairman for The Camden Cup Polo Match.
Mendel is a lifelong resident of Kershaw County and has been an agent for 39 years. He enjoys working with customers and considers them as friends. He’s married and has two sons and loves to spend time with them. He also graduated from Camden High School in ‘73, Anderson in ’75 and USC in ’77.
In his free time, he likes to go hunting and fishing.
